ABOUT AMBRO LIMITED
Ambro Limited was established in 1997 by Steven Spencer and Jacqueline Spangler as a physical metal trading and distribution company with the aim of providing commodity solutions to banks, corporations and financial institutions worldwide. Ambro is owned by Xenmet SA.
Prior to founding Ambro, Steven Spencer was a Director of Internationale Nederlanden Group (London) Derivatives Limited (ING) and has been trading London Metal Exchange metals since 1973. He was instrumental in creating the first Islamic commodity murabaha transactions involving metals in 1973-74, in conjunction with Citibank, and acts as Shari’a co-ordinator for institutions wishing to operate in Islamic jurisdictions. He is a Member of the Arbitration Committee of the LME and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Jacqueline Spangler was formerly with Richmond Metal Trading Limited, ING (London) Derivatives Limited and Salomon Smith Barney, and has been trading metals and other commodities since 1989. She specialises in market analysis and risk management.
